Lupita is back on the road this year! Fondly nicknamed "The Sleeping Lioness" after one of her songs (La Leona Dormida), Lupita is also well-known for her acting work on various Mexican telenovas throughout the Eighties and Nineties, where she also recorded the theme songs. Along with Panchita de la Barrio, she formed the vanguard of a new wave of Latina feminist pop, her songs are described as open, honest portraits of love's pitfalls which have struck a chord amongst the female populace.
With about 100 songs to her name, her biggest hits include She has recorded almost a hundred songs, including the hits "La Diferencia," "Inocente Pobre Amiga," "Mudanzas," and "Acariciame, " and fall into the romance, drama and heartbreak ranchera genres, thus making her one of the most in-demand cross-over artists in Mexico.
